The European Charter on Asylum and Migration: Between reality and mirage

European countries must unite their efforts to draft an asylum and migration pact, away from the narrow political calculations and economic interests of each member.
The migration dilemma is linked to fundamental reasons based mainly on the lack of security and economic prospects in the countries of origin in the southern Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Asia.
It is not possible to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and refugees without addressing the real causes that lie in the outbreak of tensions and conflicts as a result of the complete lack of political stability, as well as the closing of economic horizons, the spread of bribery and the displacement of the elites, those elites that some European countries want to attract to immigrate under some cover. It is called selective migration, which in the long run will empty the countries of origin of their elites, which means it is impossible to advance local economies.
Europe must also encourage the resolution of conflicts through peaceful means and stop favoring military interventions, work with regional powers to resolve crises and create a road map for sustainable development according to a win-win concept.
